What is the Snoot Loop®?
The Snoot Loop® is a dog training collar that was developed by Dr. Peter Borchelt, Animal Behaviorist Consultant. The Snoot Loop® training collar is a fully adjustable, easy to use, humane training collar that will fit all breeds of dogs. This collar bears a similarity to the popular "Gentle Lead" but is specifically designed for brachyocephatic, short-snout breeds.
What does the Snoot Loop® do and how does it work?
The Snoot Loop® training collar is used to humanely stop/train dogs from lunging and pulling on leashes, barking, and jumping. Unlike choke chains and other types of collars, the Snoot Loop® never chokes your dog when it is used to correct these unwanted behaviors. To stop these behaviors, the Snoot Loop® gently applies pressure to the dogs snoot and turns their head to let them know that the behavior that they are performing is unwanted or wrong.
How is the Snoot Loop® better than other training collars?
The Snoot Loop® is different from other halters because of a couple added features. First the Snoot Loop® has a special "B" (brachycephalic) size or in other words, a size that will fit and stay on short nosed dogs (i.e. Bulldogs, Pugs, Pekingese and Others). The "B" size stays on these dogs because it has a specially designed middle strap that goes over the dogs head to hold it on.
Secondly the Snoot Loop® is fully adjustable, which allows you to adjust it to your dog's specific lengths so that they feel the most comfortable. The fully adjustable Snoot Loop® is the only one that allows you to adjust the side straps to provide the most comfortable and precise fit for your dog. The side straps also allow you to adjust the Snoot Loop® to keep it out of the dogs eyes.
Third the Snoot Loop® is made of a tubular webbing. The tubular webbing is considerably lighter than other halters flat hard webbing and also allows the fabric to flex in all directions providing the dog with a softer more forgiving fabric on its nose. The Snoot Loop also functions as a muzzle to offer you more control of bullies that resist eye/ear medications and some grooming procedures.
The eBully Boutique offers The Snoot Loop in Red and Black. We currently offer only the Medium (B) size specifically designed for short nose breeds. The collar is fully adjustable to neck size 11"-25" and nose circumference 14"-19". Each collar includes an instructional DVD which demonstrates how to properly adjust the collar to your dog.
